Made from Scratch began when we lived in Dubai against an Expat culture of Maids, Gardeners and Car Washers. Deciding that this went against our principles we set up a business to teach the usually South Asian housemaids (‘Maids’) how to cook to help broaden their skills, sense of purpose and employability. We called this business Maid from Scratch. Over time, our reputation grew and we received an increasing number of requests from Expat households to provide home cooked ‘ready meals’ direct and on a regular basis. What followed was a fantastically successful cottage industry that ran for 4 years until we returned to the UK. Twelve years on and we want to offer this tried and tested service to our guests at Lower Park.
The food is home-made, uses quality and local ingredients and is always delicious and super tasty. No jars or pastes !
